Sean Williams retires from T20Is

Zimbabwean cricketer Sean Williams has officially announced his retirement from Twenty20 International matches. Cricbuzz has acquired information that the left-handed player made his decision during the recently finished five-match T20I series in Bangladesh. Bangladesh emerged victorious in the initial four matches of the series, but Zimbabwe managed to secure a consolation win on Sunday, providing Williams with a satisfying farewell from the format. He appeared only in the initial and last match of the series. He will maintain his role as the representative of the country in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches.

“Williams made the decision to retire from T20I and communicated this to his teammates after the game,” stated a BCB official working with the Zimbabwean side to Cricbuzz on Sunday.

Williams played in 81 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for Zimbabwe, achieving a score of 1691 runs with a strike rate of 126.38. In addition, he achieved a total of 48 wickets using his left-arm spin.
